Maersk Reopens Multiple Middle East Ports for Bookings
As the situation in the Middle East undergoes phased adjustments, Maersk has recently updated its regional operating arrangements in the Middle East. According to the company’s latest announcement, starting from Monday (March 16), some previously suspended port booking services have gradually resumed operations.

The scope of bookings restored this time covers multiple key ports. In terms of two-way import and export business, Maersk has re-accepted bookings for reefer containers, dangerous goods and special cargo at the Port of Jeddah in Saudi Arabia, King Abdullah Port and the Port of Aqaba in Jordan. At the same time, bookings for ordinary dry cargo containers at Sohar Port in Oman and Khorfakkan Port in the United Arab Emirates have also resumed on March 16.
In addition, Maersk currently maintains dry box import and export booking services at ports in Saudi Arabia (Jeddah Port, King Abdullah Port), Jordan, Oman (Salala Port), Lebanon and Israel. Relevant cargo owners can arrange shipments normally according to actual needs.
Affected by the regional situation, Maersk once suspended the booking of reefer containers, dangerous goods and special cargo at multiple ports in the United Arab Emirates, Oman, Iraq, Kuwait, Jordan, Qatar, Bahrain and Saudi Arabia. It also implemented suspension measures for dry container business in the United Arab Emirates, Iraq, Kuwait, Qatar, Saudi Arabia (Daman, Jubail), Oman (Sohar) and Bahrain.
Maersk stated in the announcement that the company is continuing to pay attention to the development of the situation in the Middle East. As the local security situation changes, Maersk has taken corresponding measures to ensure the safety of employees, ensure the integrity of cargo, and strive to maintain the relative stability of the operating network. The company also reminds customers that as the regional situation remains uncertain, relevant booking policies may still be adjusted in the future based on actual conditions.
