Maersk route adjustment! Involving India and the Middle East!

Recently, Maersk(sea freight forwarder) announced a series of adjustments to its shipping network covering trade in India and the Middle East.
The company has launched a new round-trip route from Colombo to facilitate the transshipment of Mediterranean cargo to and from the subcontinent. The service will be available to Salalah, Colombo, Enor, Colombo and Salalah on a rotating basis from February 5.
"In Colombo, we will connect to Europe(sea freight forwarder) via the AE7 service and to the Far East via the AE55 service," Maersk said in a customer advisory. "Both services include a Western Mediterranean hub, providing connectivity to Northern Europe," the company added.

Maersk also announced four new services to strengthen its intra-West Asia network, linking Red Sea and Mediterranean cargo from the Gulf region.

Expected to begin on February 5, Gulf services will operate in Salalah (Oman), Jebel Ali (UAE), Doha (Qatar), Darfur (Saudi Arabia), Jubail (Saudi Arabia), Jebel Ali, Abu Dhabi Stops include Zabi (UAE), Duqm (UAE) and Salalah.

Starting February 9, the Arabian Sea service will call at Salalah, Jebel Ali, Pot Qasim (Pakistan), Pipavav (India), Nhava Sheva (India) and Salalah.

Starting from February 21, the Red Sea-Western Mediterranean route will take turns operating Port Said (Egypt), Port Jeddah (Saudi Arabia), King Aldoula Port Said (Egypt), Barcelona (Spain), Tangier Port (Morocco), Algeciras (Spain) (Saudi Arabia), Porto Vado (Italy) and Port Said.
As of February 18, Red Mediterranean services are characterized by port rotations Jeddah, Port Said, Tangier and Port Said,
Maersk(sea freight forwarder) expects longer transit times on its AE5, AE10 and AE6 routes, with no changes to the ports of call on these routes. Other changes include AE7 services skipping Jeddah, omitting Salalah and King Abdullah (eastbound), while adding Colombo on AE55.
